Why in the world does my baby hate milk?

I am at my wit's end.

My beautiful, adorable, yet extremely stubborn little baby girl has decided that she no longer needs fluids. She has always done really well with both breastfeeding and taking breast milk from the bottle. Now that I am back at work, though, she refuses. We can't get her to take breast milk or formula from a bottle, sippy-cup, or cup while I am at work, and I can't get her to take a bottle when I am home either. Plus, she barely breastfeeds - and it is a fight every time. She almost acts as if she doesn't like the taste of breast milk or formula. The only way we can get her any fluids is by mixing it into her solid foods (which she loves). I seriously don't know what to do anymore.

Suggestions?

Have you gone to a Lactation Specialist? They can be super helpful! That sounds super hard! Good luck!!

We are kind of in the same boat. I am basically done with the BFing because Dane would eat for 5 seconds (okay. more like 1-2 minutes) and be done with it. He wasn't getting anything. So he is now a formula baby! And I'm okay with it. BUT, lately he eats like 3 oz. and then thinks he's too cool for school or something? If you get any tips, let me know!

Just keep offering her the bottle. Babies don't know how to starve. She is just having a fit because she isn't getting enough of what she wants. Eventually she will cave. It is all part of ajusting.

Olivia did the exact same thing!! except she never took a bottle well. i got her to drink by giving b-milk in a medicine syringe. i think she thought it was neat to drink like that. i kept offering both a bottle and the breast and then she finally took the bottle. you also might want to get a fast flow nipple, she will only drink from the fast flow ones and she had to be sitting on my lap facing out so she could see what was going on. i also have to sometimes just make her keep the bottle in her mouth for a second even if she is crying and then she would eventually take it. Its a hard a stressful thing to go through, but keep trying, she will eventually decide on something. i love guys and good luck!! they are such silly babies with their own silly ideas! jennifer bailey
